Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Austin is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I discovered Rokr last year after service levels at German Auto changed dramatically, and I’m glad it did because the service that Ken provides at Rokr is unmatched. He is thorough, he follows through on his commitments, and also doesn’t over promise & under deliver. You leave knowing exactly what to look out for on your car. I’m a fan.

AMAZING SERVICE. Brought my car in and had it scheduled for diagnostics. I dropped it off two days later and they had a same day result for me! Great staff, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. AN HONEST BUSINESS which is rare these days. Would recommend them 100%

5/5 Stars Huge shoutout to Ken and the team at ROKR! They accommodated my incredibly tight business schedule and got me sorted out quickly. After a frustrating experience at a corporate service center, ROKR was a breath of fresh air. Text communication was crystal clear, the service was top-notch, and they worked wonders. I will absolutely be using them from now on! Great food truck outside as well 🫣🤣❤️

I wish I could give 10 Stars! Rokr by far is hands down the best and most transparent Automotive Shop In Austin! They are very very very knowledgeable and consistent with their work, and with the best prices in Austin! I had a problem with my check engine light and a few codes. I assumed what the issue was and had extra parts and they fixed it for FREE, complimentary to the WELL WORTH Diagnostics test and Free Inspection. I kid you not they have the most honest and genuine team members and everyone keeps a smile on their face, I love the positive energy! I’m not sure how busy they were, but They fixed my issue VERY quick and Prioritized my vehicle. Unlike other shops they will prioritize your vehicle, no complaints whatsoever and the quotes were more than HALF of what my local dealership was charging me. Another great thing is that they tell you all the problems with the level of importance and shows you what should be prioritized based on your safety and vehicle condition. 10/10 AMAZING SHOP 🤩👨‍🔧👍

I had my 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid serviced here and I am so happy with my experience. I loved walking through the door being greeted by the staff with smiles. They were very welcoming and very efficient. They were very thorough going over everything that I needed for my car and after completed, they went over everything that we performed. Very professional and very friendly. Oh, I loved the food trucks outside. I got someothing to eat while waiting! I highly recommend RoKr Auto Repair to anyone that wants a very reliable mechanic!

Haven't needed service in a while but Ken and the guys at Rokr still remembered me. Took great care and gave great customer service. I love their detailed inspections and recommendations without a hard sell on getting something done. Work done well with updates along the way and detailed explanations before, during and after. Definitely coming back for our auto service needs!

I just wanted to leave a positive review for this shop. I was always kept in the loop with what was going on with my van and they did some extra work clearing out my van that they didn't have to do but were so kind to do so. They did several things for me and were able to do a quick turn around regarding the vehicles state. I brought it in on a tow truck and was able to drive it off the lot on its own by the time they were done with it. They installed a backup camera, new steering column, new starter, with wire splicing and some other things I asked for. Prices are fair and honest. I got texts with pricing and a break down for services throughout their work on the van, always being clear and educating me on what was best moving forward. I will be giving them more work in the future for sure. Thanks everyone at RokR, you guys do indeed Rock! 🤘
